Cherry Dump Cake

  • 1 yellow or butter cake mix
  • 2 - 21 ounce cans of cherry pie filling
  • 2 - 15 ounce cans of pineapple chunk
  • 1 1/2 sticks of butter, sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups of pecan pieces
  • 1 medium sized container of Cool Whip

Put pineapple chunks in bottom of Dutch oven.  Spoon cherry pie filling on top of pineapple.  Sprinkle cake mix evenly on next.  Arrange butter slices on top of cake mix, covering entirely.  Sprinkle pecan pieces on top of butter.  Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until golden brown.  Serve with Cool Whip or vanilla ice cream.
