How can I get a good workout in the winter when it is cold and dark all the time

I have no money to spend on joining a gym and I do not get a lunch break. Right now I walk outside for my exercise but in the winter it will be too dark and cold by the time i am done with school and work for the day. I also have no money to spend on any type of equipment. exercise videos are a no because there is not enough room in my house. What should I do? I have worked so hard this summer finally starting to work out and I have lost 35 lbs and I do not want to gain it back and get out of shape just because of winter.

Can you get exercise at school?

Yoga is something that you can do with a relatively small amount of space. You can sometimes find free instructional yoga books or DVDs at libraries. Also, check out FreeCycle (link below) for used equipment for free. You can also get creative around your house for weights–canned foods, old milk jugs filled with water. Other than those options, you’ll be looking at basic calisthenics to keep you in shape.

Secondly, people where I live take walks or jog even in the winter time with snow on the ground. On your days off you could go while it’s at least still light out. It’s cold, but do-able.

Is it safe to take on an airplane?

I'm going on a cross country flight to visit family soon. I purchased an aluminum baseball bat special for my nephew as a gift. Is small enough that can fit in my suitcase. Does the bat to be well in your suitcase, if the bag goes under the plane and not as hand luggage? Or will there be problems when workers check my bag before putting it in the storage area underneath?

You should be fine, like the others above me state, is perfectly acceptable for most items take on an airplane, if stored below where no one else that workers may have authorized access. If you're nervous or worried about it every airline offers a 1-800 number to call and ask questions. That would make if you're still unsure or wary about carrying on board.
